Congratulations to each new alumnus of the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point!

Congratulations! It’s that magical time in your life when the world and all of its creatures wants to embrace you and all your accomplishments and join you in the celebration that is your graduation!

As a 2001 Alumnus of the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point, I am honored to congratulate the class of 2009.

Traveling all the way from “The Pairs of the North” or Tromsø, Norway, Jenny Baeseman a 1998 undergraduate of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, is the commencement speaker at both graduation ceremonies on Saturday, May 16.

“If a tree falls in the woods, will there be anyone there to hear it?” No one may be there to hear it, but starting this summer, there will be someone there to pick it up thanks to Kenneth Price.

Emily Bouche grew up in the small town of Sauk Prairie, Wis. After graduating from Sauk Prairie High School in 2004, she chose to attend the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point, but it wasn’t exactly her first choice.

The College of Professional Studies is finishing up a year of change. Welcoming the Division of Business and Economics into the college, the CPS has grown into a larger and more diverse family in addition to many other accomplishments.

Art and design students recently showed off their creativity from the last four years on Friday, May 8, in the Edna Carlsten Gallery and courtyard of the Noel Fine Arts Center during the Bachelor of Fine Arts Exhibition.

An abundance of change, including new faculty and programs, brings new light upon the College of Letters and Science at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point this year.

Graduating seniors aren’t the only ones getting nostalgic this spring; indeed, 19 retiring faculty members will be joining them in saying farewell to the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

As a new batch of graduates gets set to enter into the job market, the looming cloud of the current economic state in the U.S. can seem like an impossible thing to overcome.

Well guys, here is your final installment of your very own step-by-step guide to dressing for success.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the spring 2009 graduating class of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

Congratulations! You did it! It’s time to graduate and I wish to hug each and every one of you! The smell of success hangs on your graduation caps and gowns.

“It would have been helpful to know that I would one day be delivering a commencement address,” said James Duquette when asked if there was something he wishes he would have known before he graduated which he knows now. “I would have taken better notes at my own graduation.”

Sometimes the most meandering of roads are the most fulfilling; at least that’s what one can ascertain from the college career of student commencement speaker Courtney Ryan.

Not everyone who is graduating came to the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point for academic reasons.

On Monday, Dec. 8, 2008, the Veterans Club at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point held a send-off saying goodbye to an estimated 36 soldiers that will be leaving the university for active duty during the early spring months.

The College of Natural Resources at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is the largest undergraduate natural resources college in the nation, and with that title comes many activities and happenings during the fall semester of 2008. Though the college has had many great accomplishments, they have also experienced a great loss this semester.

The College of Fine Arts and Communication is bringing another successful semester to a close. The semester was filled with highlights that were enjoyed not just by the campus but by the community as well.

On any given day of the week, one can walk into the CPS Café and find a multitude of students enjoying the friendly cafeteria ambiance, fueling their minds and bodies with local, organic and homemade food during gaps in their busy schedules.

Ryan Wrasse has gone from walking the halls of the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point to governmental buildings in Washington D.C. I was able to learn more about this fast-moving graduate and learned what has become of him since he has left this storied university.
