Letters to the Editor
Dear Editor:
I am writing this letter concerning the use of bicycles on and around campus. I am currently a member of a group that believes that this is a valuable asset that students don’t take advantage of while going to college here at UW-SP.
We are currently trying to expand the bike rental program here at UW-SP. We feel that this is a natural resource college, so we should practice some of what we preach. Leaving that car at home and riding a bicycle is the right thing to do. We are all trying to improve the quality of life and protect the planet we live on, so why not do your part? During Earth Week, you will have the chance to show your support. There are multiple events involving bicycle riding and safety that you can get involved in. “Ride fair” will be going on during Earth Week, so join in the fun and get healthy at the same time.
In conclusion, we believe that this is a good program for our school and for the students who attend the school. With an expanded program, we can improve the chance of incoming students to get a bicycle to ride while attending UW-SP.
