Just when you thought your class project would never get done or that there wasn’t enough hours in a day to get your banners made, film developed and brochures made, Copies & More can help you with even more hours of open time.
Copies & More has been a new feature of the Dreyfus University Center since its reopening last spring after being reconstructed.
This new feature of the building offers just what the title reveals. They have copy services that provide black and white or color copying on a variety of color papers available in different styles.
They offer more than just copies though. They also have spiral binding, hard or soft laminating, faxing and banner printing.
“One of my favorite services is spiral binding,” said Stacie Simpson, student manager of Copies & More. “We can take a lengthy paper or any multi-page document and attach it together with a plastic spiral. Then, we slap a plastic cover on it, and it’s sure to raise you a letter grade on your project. I finish all my final projects with spiral binding.”
One of their most popular features is the photo kiosk, which allows for fast photo development at a lower price than retail stores.
“You don’t have to wait an hour for your prints; they shoot right out the bottom. And the best part, it’s less expensive than the photo kiosks at Wal-Mart and Walgreens,” said Simpson.
Copies & More also looks at new challenges head-on and is prepared to help students on almost any project.
“Students shouldn’t be afraid to bring in something that’s a little bit out-of-the-ordinary,” said Simpson. “Our staff will take a look at it, get some information about the project, and then we’ll work together to figure out how to get it done. If you bring us something challenging or unique, we’ll most likely say, ‘We’ll try.’”
Some unique projects that have been brought up since opening have been sending faxes internationally, laminating backstage passes to events, copying wall plaques, and even enlarging a receipt to poster size.
With the new extended hours, students will be able to get things later in the day after work or classes when they might be busiest putting together that last-minute project.
“Right now, we’re all in the ‘crunch time’ of the semester. We all want to know that we’ll be able to complete our A plus project, even if it’s the night before it’s due,” said Simpson.
